THE FIRST MEETING of the new Board of Governors of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Northern New Jersey was held at the home of President Gus Wiedenmayer '29 on Tuesday, May 7. In addition to the president and secretary those present were Richard C. Plumer '12, Karl Koeniger '17, Sumner A. Perkins '21, Louis V. Wilcox '23, William F. Blanchard '30, G. Warren French '30, Gordon M. Carver '31, and Moe Frankel '34.
Two committee chairmen were appointed by the president. Moe Frankel was named head of the Dartmouth Information or Schools Committee. The work of this committee is to present more adequately the Dartmouth picture to desirable young men from the New Jersey district. Working closely with the Alumni Council, this group will endeavor to give better distribution of Dartmouth information to secondary school students. The balance of the committee will be picked by Moe. Anyone interested in helping this group function or in suggesting any possible candidates can get in touch with Moe at Clifford Scott High School, East Orange.
Lou Wilcox has agreed to take over the job of organizing a permanent telephone squad, whose purpose it will be to notify members of coming events via telephone. Don't be surprised to hear from Lou in the near future. Give him all the help you can. It's a tough job!
Next year's activities will be somewhat more varied than those of the year just passed. No definite program has been adopted, but the group felt that more functions would be desirable. An Entertainment Committee chairman will be chosen as soon as possible and at that time a definite program will be mailed to all members.
