On Saturday of Commencement week a small reunion was held on the piazza of the Inn, those present being Mr. and Mrs. Luther Oakes, Tom Oakes, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Benezet, George Clark, Pete Winchester, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hawkes. We had our pictures taken, of course, had dinner together and attended the show in the evening.

We have supposed that by this time we knew all about the past life of Hobe, but it remained for the Boston Globe in an interview with him published July 6th to give us the facts about his first job when he worked in a mill as a "doffer" for the wage of $2.40 per week, and incidentally showed his leadership by leading a strike.

Sleeper was forced to spend part of the summer at a hospital in Boston, where a surgical operation 'was found necessary, but he is now recovered and attending to his law work as usual.

Kenneth Beal was the Commencement speaker in June at his Alma Mater Kimball Union Academy. He was presented by Jim Richardson who has been a trustee of K.U.A. since 1918. As a part of the introduction Jim presented Ken with his diploma which, for some reason, has been gathering dust in the K.UA. safe since 1895. It is said that the audience was much amused by the interplay of humor and sentiment which then ensued between Jim and Kenneth.

As is his custom, Cush spent the first two weeks in August with his sister at Randolph. He made his usual visit to the Richardsons at Hanover, and he and Jim took part in one of the weekly duplicate contract sessions at the Hanover Inn, walking off with top score. On the same evening Benny and his partner finished fourth. Benny is a regular at these contests and is usually a first division finisher.

Hawley Chase visited Hanover in June. The wedding of Rev. Roger Warren Barney to Miss Violet Jane Lockwood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes Greene Lockwood of Buchanan, Va., was early in July, the ceremony being performed by the Rt. Rev. John T. Dallas, bishop of New Hampshire. The Rev. and Mrs. Barney will make their home at North Conway, N. H., where he is rector of Christ Church.

Bill Cunningham, in his article in the Boston Herald of Sept. 7th, gave a very vivid and touching reference to Cav when he first took command of his troops at the front. It is one of the best portrayals of Cav that I have ever read.

Plans are made for the usual after the game dinner which will be October 18th at the University Club. Notices will also be sent with further details.
