It is a pleasure to call attention to 1907's record in the 1941 Alumni Fund Campaign. Our Class was awarded a Double Star improvement prize for having improved by 45% its position with respect to per cent of contributors and per cent of objective.

Mr. and Mrs. Guy Merrill announced the marriage of their daughter Martha to Mr. James Harwood Shattuck on June 18 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thomas Richards announced the marriage of their daughter Ruth Stephans to Mr. Paul Allen Norton on July 4 at Hyannis, Massachusetts.

News about Arthur Winslow is infrequent and very welcome. Arthur has been personnel manager for the Hollingsworth & Whitney Company, paper manufacturers, in Waterville, Maine since 1930. Arthur's only son Robert was married on March 31, 1940 to Miss Margaret Felix whose home was in Millinocket, Maine, and on January 30, 1941, a daughter, Susan Elizabeth, was born to them.

Vic King's family is always news. A son Gene '39, is a volunteer in field artillery stationed at Camp Roberts, California. He hopes to have another and final year at Harvard Law when the emergency is over. Thomas '45, will be a Freshman, living in Crosby Hall when this is printed. Victor '31, is Counselor at Law in Bound Brook, N. J. Jamie '34, is in the gas and fuel oil business in Metuchen, N. J. Vic '07, continues as technical director of the Calco Chemical Division of the American Cyanamid Corporation. He regrets that Tommy is the last son he can send to Hanover and hopes that his grandsons will carry on.

Phil Chase reports a brief visit from Sam Barnes in the early summer when Sam visited his daughter Sally who is married and living in Philadelphia near the Chases. As this is being written, Sam's old running mate, Bill Jennings, has just called on the class Secretary during a brief visit with his eastern relatives. Bill has deserted the Northwest in recent years and now makes his home at La Jolla in Southern California.

Bill Sanborn has a defense job with the Remington Arms Company in Denver, Colorado. History seems to repeat itself since Bill had a similar job with the Winchester Arms Company from 1915 to

Late in June the Secretary received from Charles Willson a newspaper article about three of his four sons: Allan T., an M.D, from the University of Wisconsin, is a lieutenant serving in the Walter Reed hospital in Washington, D. C. Charles E. enlisted in the Navy in October, 1940. Having completed his training at Newport, R. I.with the distinction of having been honor man of his company, he was ordered to Long Beach, California, where he was stationed on the airplane carrier Lexington. Orrin J. joined the Army on March 31, 1941, served at Fort Devens, Mass., and later was stationed at Fort Bragg, N. C. Willson has two other children, a son and a daughter, both married.

Charles Beals reports the death of his wife last March. The sympathy of the class has been extended to him. His daughter Mary, the 1907 Class Baby, continues to teach in South Africa.

In the necrology section the death of Walter B. Spelman on July 4, 1941, at Montreal, Canada, is announced. Spelman entered with the class in 1903, remained until 1905, and later transferred to Princeton, receiving his A. B. degree in 1910. At the time of his death he was Dean of the College of Men at the Morton Junior College in Cicero, Illinois, and was vacationing at Rouses Point, New York.
