Your scribe and Harold Prescott attended the Secretary and Class Agent Meetings in Hanover in June. We both received a great deal of stimulus from the meetings. At that time I was taking a vacation on the doctor's orders to try to get my blood pressure down. As a result I was on the wagon and drinking no coffee and doing no smoking. Harold commiserated with me because I had to be so good to get into shape while he looked in perfect condition. I was dumbfounded, however, to learn that Harold went back home and had a heart attack which put him in the hospital for four weeks. He has been at home since but has to take a couple of months' rest before attempting to get back to work. Harold's address is 236 Cliff Avenue, Pelham, New York. How about writing the boy a line?

George Hinckley was reappointed this- spring to another term as judge of the South Portland Municipal Court. Before his appointment to the Court he served two sessions in the Maine Legislature. George's son, Harris, is entering Dartmouth as a freshman this fall and his daughter, Marsha, graduated this spring from the Westbrook Junior College in Portland.

Harold Murchie, who is an Associated Justice of the Maine Judicial Court, apparently does not give all of his time to serious troubles as he was just recently in- stalled for a second term as Grand Master of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Maine.

Merrill Follansbee had an unfortunate accident on May 19 in which he fractured his right heel. This has given him a great deal of trouble as it is one of the worst types of break a person can have. The last I heard from him, he was in the East where the accident occurred waiting for the foot to get into such shape that he could drive his new Buick back to California.

Trescott Griffin who was with us for two years at college passed away on July 18 after a short illness. Trescott was in the investment securities business and was living at 31 Cleveland Road, Wellesley, Mass.

Sandy Hooker received considerable publicity recently testifying to blood tests he made in connection with a prominent divorce case in Boston. This was the first blood test evidence ever introduced in the Norfolk Probate Court.

Freddie Carroll joined the immortals of the golf world this spring by getting a hole in one. The Boston Herald on May 23 reported that he used a seven iron on the 144 yd.-12th hole at Oakley. I have also just recently learned that Freddie's son is in the submarine service.

Sam Bell has recently been through a couple of operations at the Phillip's House but is reported coming along in fine shape. Plum Leighton was something of a hero I believe at the Cape this summer when he rescued four people from drowning.

Frank Meleney sent a most interesting letter to the New York Herald-Tribune in reply to an invitation he received to join the America First Committee. Frank certainly told them what he thought of them.

Russ Pettingill was running around Boston even busier than he always is. He signed, I understand, a very large contract with the Boston & Maine and has opened an office here to handle it.

Reggie Bankhart's son Robert recently married the former Katherine Jane Hillman and they are making their home in West Newton.

Edwin Cummings, son of Cad and Ruth Cummings, was married this spring to Martha Lydia Cook. Edwin will be remembered as graduating at the time of the last reunion.

I ran into Mabel Avery at Ed Ford's place this spring and I know you will be interested to hear about her. She had been staying in New York with Joan who was married to Tex Bixby about the first of February, and is living in Francestown, New Hampshire. After Joan married, Ma- bel went to visit in Kansas City and then took a trip West. I later received a card from Mabel at Hancock, New Hampshire, where she is in the antique business. Her place is located across the street from the John Hancock House. She is living with a cousin in that town which is reasonably close to Joan.
