THIS TROPICAL AMERICA where summer spends the winter was again the setting for Dartmouth activities on December 13 when the Alumni Association held its regular fall meeting at Dinner Key, Pan American Airways airport. A very excellent dinner was enjoyed by the following: Art Sporborg '19, Bill Corrigan '23, Don Bunting '34, Herb Clark '11, Ed Valier '34, Jack Waller '28, Coleman Judd '36, Frank Pelton '93, Mai Beal '28, Frank Hankins '28, Charles Garnsey '20, Irv Beebe '28, Col. Teague '00, Nelson Smith '21, Edward Critchley, Dr. Clay '19, Walter Junkins '14., Nathan Straus '38, Bob Sanderson '11, Robert Burnap '94, George Loehr '20, Bill Locke '12, Ray Guernsey '25, Bud Titcomb '36, and Wilbur Graves '09. This was a total of twenty-five men, only one less than at the organization meeting at Delray Beach when President Hopkins was with us. We were honored by having with us Edward P. Critchley, Operations Manager of Pan American Airways, whose son, John, is in the Class of '43 and Nelson Smith '21, Chairman of the N. H. Public Service Commission and former assistant professor at Dartmouth. In addition to these visitors there were eleven members in attendance for the first time either because of recently having come to this area or having previously been unable to attend any of our meetings. These were Dr. Charles Clay '19, Director of Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami; Robert Burnap '94, formerly a member of the Alumni Council; Malcolm Beal '28, instructor in English at the University of Miami; Charles Garnsey '20, theatre sound equipment business; Bill Locke '12, real estate; Ray Guernsey '25, also real estate; Wilbur Graves '09; Nathan Straus '38, restaurant supply business; Bud Titcomb '36; Edward Valier '34; and Coleman Judd '36, real estate.

After a call by the President, Bill Corrigan, for recommendations on the place and date of the Annual Meeting it was voted to hold this affair at the new Trade Winds Hotel in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday March 19. We were assured of personalized attention and an excellent dinner by the partner-owner Coleman Judd '36.

Following the dinner and meeting two reels of movies, the Dartmouth-Yale 1939 football game and flying through South America via PAA, were shown.

At this writing the Secretary is compiling a list of the names and addresses of the members of the association, a copy of which will be sent to all those members thereon. In case some of you in the Southeastern Florida area do not receive your copy it is probably because we do not have your correct address or do not know of your presence here. Please advise the Secretary of the fact by card or letter at 2145 S.W. 14th Terrace, Miami and he will see that you receive your copy at once. You may be surprised to learn that there are over half a hundred men from Dartmouth living in this area either during the winter months or the year 'round.

Again may we remind you of the stag dinner and annual meeting at Fort Lauderdale in the Trade Winds Hotel (on the beach) on Wednesday, March 19, 1941. We hope we will see you there.
