The first draftee to come to our notice is Walt McKee. A clipping from the BuffaloNews quotes the induction officer as saying, "Because he's a good Irishman and this is St. Patrick's Day, I'm making him the leader of this contingent going to the reception center at Niagara Falls today." Walt was assistant foreign sales manager for Remington Rand Inc. He recently won the Buffalo district badminton singles championship and the Lewiston invitation tournament. Dr. Chuck Hazzard and Dr.Sam Bassett naval reservists, were called up for the next 13 months (or more?) and "Doc" Simonds, another naval reservist, expects to be called in June.

There must be others who have been called for training and we'd greatly appreciate an occasional post card from them.

Three marriages and one engagement go a long way toward convincing us that at least a few '2Bers still have some attraction for the opposite sex. Art Hassell and Lura Baldwin of New Canaan, Conn., were married March 11 in the chapel of Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida. The bride had been visiting at the winter home of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Raynor of Quogue, N. Y. Art and Lura went to Cuba on their wedding trip and are now living in Short Hills, N. J.

The engagement is that of Miss Jane Marie Coburn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Coburn of Harrison, N. J., to Dr. William J. Watson, of New Britain, Conn. Jane is a graduate of St. Vincent Academy, Newark, and the College of St. Elizabeth Convent. Bill graduated from New York University Medical School and did graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania School of Surgeons and he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Getting on with our nuptials, a fancy engraved announcement reveals that BobRockhill and Anne Stryck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Stryck, were married March 29 in New York. After all the years we've known Bob we're disappointed that he didn't give us more details about the important event. But when he comes back and says, as he undoubtedly will, that he was too busy before the wedding, we'll all remember how rushed we were ourselves about that time.

On April 14 Brougham Wallace and Claire Brennan, daughter of Mrs. Valentine A. Brennan of Maplewood, N. J., were married at the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer, New York. They left on a threeweek wedding trip, the first stop being Sea Island, Georgia. By the middle of May they will be "at home" at 61 Glenwood Avenue, East Orange, N. J. Brougham is an Assistant Treasurer of the Guaranty Trust Company, New York.

Monty Wells, former world record holder for the 45-yard high hurdles, has resigned his track coaching position at Brookline (Mass.) High. The Boston Herald said, "Wells, one of Dartmouth's greatest track athletes, has been extremely busy with his academic duties, and the added burden of track coaching resulted in a minor physical breakdown after the indoor season. On the advice of his physician, Monty is giving up all extra-curricula activity. Monty has been head coach at Brookline since 1935."

To keep track of the many activities of Bill Morion one must be a constant reader of the Syracuse newspapers. We're obliged to C. C. Forsaith '13 for the latest clipping and a picture of Bill and three others planning the Syracuse General Hospital's expansion campaign. Bill heads the men's division and has organized some 250 volunteer workers. Bill is treasurer of the Onondaga County Savings Bank and a member of the hospital's board of trustees.

Chris Livingston is the Manager of The Texas Company for Korea and says it is one beautiful country. In a recent letter to Lew Beers he said, "It gets cold as the very devil here and after six years in India and Indo-China I feel it, believe me. Because of conditions out here, my wife, Eileen, had to go home and is now with my father in Texas. This bachelor life is not so hot."

Dick Klinck was promoted last month from Assistant Treasurer to Secretary of the Merchants Refrigerating Company, of New York, a seven million dollar concern and one of the oldest and largest ware, houses for cold storage of food products in the country. The company has two warehouses in New York, one in Jersey City and one in Newark.

Elliott Donnelley is President of Scale Models, a firm manufacturing model railroad equipment that works, with offices and plant in Libertyville, Illinois. If you don't realize what a big business model railroad equipment is, note that a group of "fans" recently leased a large plot on East 94th Street, New York, and are building a model railroad center in which it will take 30 men to operate the railroad system at any one time.

Dick White, proprietor of White's Pharmacy, Montauk, Long Island, is the proud father of a potential '62er in the person of Richard Fox Jr., born February 21.

Harvey Fisher Jr. was born March 8 in Doctors Hospital, New York. He is being groomed for the class of '62 by his doting father. He will be the fourth generation in the Fisher family to graduate from Dartmouth.

At the Alumni Fund Agents' Dinner at the Dartmouth Club in New York early in April we were proud to hear Campaign Chairman Harvey Hood '18 single out Class Agent Paul Kruming and '28 for praise for the large number of contributions already sent in and for the high percentage of increases in the size of the contributions. All previous records of which '28 is so proud can and will be broken with your loyal cooperation.
