HANOVER'S NEW POLICE chief, succeeding Chief Dennis J. Hallisey who died in February, is Andrew J. Ferguson of Lebanon, who earlier served for five years as Hanover motorcycle officer under Chief Hallisey. Mr. Ferguson has been an inspector for the New Hampshire State Police since 1935.

Chief Ferguson has had special police schooling with the New Hampshire State Police for three summers and has also taken training courses with the state police of New York and Massachusetts. He began his Hanover duties on April 1.
