Dr. Fletcher Harper Swift, professor of education at the University of California, was given an award of merit by the American Educational Research Association at its annual meeting held at Atlantic City recently. Selection for the award is considered a high honor. The award was given for Swift's collection of studies entitled European Policies of Financing Education.

Fred Bennis has once more arrived at his ancestral home at Sullivan Harbor, Maine, for the summer.

The Secretary called on E. M. Gleason at his very attractive home at Ayer recently. Ernest has been principal of the Ayer High School for more than thirty years. What a contribution to the Youth of Ayer our classmate has made! Certainly a life well spent!

Dick Marcy and Harry Clark will soon be at their summer homes in New Hampshire. Dick at Rindge and Harry at North Weare.

William Hugh Mitchell joins Bob Peck in retiring from school work this June.

Robert Patey is graduating from Dartmouth this year and expects to enter Harvard Medical School in the fall. In the same graduating class are sons of "Pat" Conway—Walter McCornack and Ed Tabor.
