One of the Secretary's fall visitors, the asthma, will not let him talk. The other, the hay fever, makes him weep.

Spud Smith is to become Class Treasurer. He says the Secretary fails in mathematics for I report him in the August issue to have 500 aides in the Civilian Medical Defense Service in Hudson when the correct number is 50.

Tommie Harris since he got out of hospital has written me a letter with his own hand stating that he plans to make a visit this fall to his '86 boys and girls in the East. Hooray for Tommie's health and courage.

On September 8, Biff and Lillian left the pines in Vermont for the palms of Florida. After a stop with his son, Dr. William P. Kelly Jr., in Carmel, N. Y., he says he shall entrain in New York for St. Petersburg.

Pete and his daughter, Eleanor, made a call on Mrs. Chaffee who recently made a visit of a few weeks in Hingham. Eleanor also says that she and Pete are at present getting on well.

In August, Billie says he attended his second professional baseball game in 40 years. He queries: "stepping out for the old man! isn't it?"
