A son of William R. Patterson '76, has long been living at Manila. Several weeks ago a letter of inquiry was sent to his sister, Miss Ida Patterson, living with her invalid mother in Chicago. No reply to this inquiry has been received. The letter sent had return address.
Richard T. Ely is giving most of his time to his home interests in Lyme, Conn. He makes one or two trips to New York weekly. Since an attack of pneumonia two years ago his health has not been quite up to the usual standard.
Peabody's letters give the impression that he is finding interesting ways of passing time at his new home in Altadena, Cal. Peabody may best be described as photographer and lecturer. During a long period he was engaged photographing scenery, ranging widely. In this activity he used his car, and it would not be a guess wide of the fact to judge that he has driven a car more miles than any other member of the class. He is the latest member driving a car.
Peabody was always variously interested. In undergraduate days he was the most active member on a telegraph line he strung through the town. In athletics he was on the class crew. On graduating he took courses in Boston at Tech., and was for a time employed in the East and the Middle West. Born in Boston he has been located for many years on the Pacific Coast.
Evidence of the periods of loneliness which visit all the older classes appears in a recent letter from Mrs. Kenerson Andercompleting son, now at her winter home in DeLand, Florida, a home she acquired last year. A snapshot shows an attractive house and grounds. Mrs. Anderson is conserving her car and goes about very little.
