THE FOLLOWING IS A BRIEF chronological report of our new Dartmouth Club of Youngstown, Ohio:

I. Meetings and discussions to work out details. Those present included Jim Walls '25, A 1 Reinman '37, Bill Barrett '34 and Herb Wollison '29. 2. First official luncheon,. at the Steel City Club in Youngstown on October 10, 1941. Wally Thornton '24, Milt Mclnnes '3O, Bill McKelvey '4l, Dick Owsley '29, Doc McKelvey '29, Barrett and Wollison were all on hand.

3. Dartmouth-Yale game on October 25th—Broadcast Party at the "Wah-Hoo" Colonial Room, Mahoning Country Club. Luncheon, beer and radio. Everyone was holding his breath to make sure we'd be able to tune in OK. The reception situation looked grim, so we arranged for a short-wave radio to be sent in, but the game came in full blast over WRUL, Boston, and the extra radio was not needed. No score until someone decided to pass the hat, then Dartmouth scored immediately. Any attempt to hold a business meeting was dismissed, but it was decided to hold a joint Christmas Party for alumni and undergraduates. Coon, McCleery and Wilson started the ball rolling for a dinner for "Tuss" McLaughry at Sharon, December 3rd. Those present were Ed Jahn 'l5, A 1 Reinman, Jim Walls, Les Lambert '2l, Cam Clokey '27, Bill Barrett, Bill Watson '3B, Dick Andrews '33, Herb Wollison, Bill and Doc McKelvey, and Dick Owsley (all of Youngstown), Jim Wilson 'l9, of Salem, Fred McCleery and Mort Coon 'lB, of Sharon, Pa.

4. Sharon Fans' Club Testimonial Dinner in honor of Coach "Tuss" McLaughry, at Sharon, Pa. on December 3, 1941- The group numbered an even dozen, composed of men previously named, plus Jim Frampton '2B, and Dyke Beede, football coach at Youngstown College and formerly of the University of Pittsburgh. Everybody enjoyed a swell evening. Coach "Tuss" McLaughry was toasted by those who have known him in the past, and we stood up in a body for a toast by those who know him now!

5. Christmas Dinner for undergraduates and alumni, held at the Mahoning Country Club on December 22. Fred McCleery carried on admirably the function of toastmaster and set the theme of the evening as "You tell us about Hanover and we'll dig up a few from the past for you." Fred explained the old expression of "Wooding Up" along with numerous other reminiscences. We mingled alumni with undergraduates and worked it out so that everybody could know everyone else. Professor Warner Wick had planned to be there but at the last minute was unable. Al Reinman brought his fine set of Dartmouth phonograph records and some pictures, which gave a nice touch to the cocktail hour. All graduates and undergraduates said a few words, and Dale Bartholomew '42, president of the senior class, gave us a good resume of Hanover activity. It was everybody's party and all pitched in and did a swell job. The group numbered about go, of which 10 were undergraduates seniors, Bill Milliken, John Wester, Sam Hall and Dale Bartholomew; three juniors, Joe Harvey, Chuck Longfield and Hank Garlick; two sophomores, Fred McCleery Jr. and Bill Reinman, and one freshman, Bud Turner.

As a result of the Christmas meeting the following were elected officers: Herb Wollison '29, president, Bill Barrett '34, secretary, Dick Owsley '29, Jim Walls '25 and A 1 Reinman '37, assistant secretaries and active committee, and Wally Thornton '24, treasurer.

We plan another get-together in the spring, with intermediate luncheons.
