Harold Murchie, who as you know is a member of the Supreme Judicial Court of the State of Maine, has recently had another honor conferred on him. On March 13 th, he was awarded the honorary degree of LL.D. from Boston University. Harold is certainly carrying the honors for the class these days.

I received a notice sometime ago that John D. Lawson had died, but I have been unable and the College has been unable to secure the date and the place of death. If anyone in the class has any information that would be of help, I would appreciate hearing from him. Two years ago I saw quite a little of him when he was selling soap powder for the Napthole Company; at that time he was living at 25 Congress Street, Salem, Mass., but I have seen nothing of him since.

Stillman C. Davis' new address is Craigie Arms, Concord Street, Cambridge, Mass.

Who should drop in to my office the other day but Roland H. Perley of Danvers, Mass. I certainly didn't recognize him and he gave me quite a line on a complaint before he told me who he was. He tells me that he is running a grocery store in Danvers. He promised to come in and have lunch with me, after which I hope to be able to tell you more about him. He came in especially to ask for the address of our treasurer, Mr. Edgar Chappellear, as he owed him $3.00 for class dues. In case anybody else is ready to send on theirs, the address is Bankers Trust Company, 16 Wall Street, New York City.

I ran into Buster Goodrich and his wife in the store last week. It is the first time that I have seen Buster for years. He is the manager of the stock department of the Commonwealth Shoe and Leather Company and has been so busy getting an education for his children that he says he hasn't been able to get around to our affairs. I told him it was time for him to get going; to which he agreed. Buster is looking fine and scarcely changed a bit from his old photo.

Russell Cowles received a lot of publicity in the March 9th issue of Life Magazine. This is the issue of Life which had the nudes displayed. Russell's portrait entitled The Parade, an amusing incident, was one of the nudes that kept the magazine from the newstands in Boston. Incidentally I might say that I thought Russell's was the best of those shown. He is certainly doing well with his painting.

I have no record of any of the class going into the military service. If you know of anybody that is in service, would you please let me know so that we can have the record, not only for ourselves, but also to pass on to the College.

A letter from Harold Burbank states that he has been ill, therefore was unable to attend our Alumni Dinner. He says that it has been a long time since he has seen any of the crowd. I hope he will be able to keep in touch better in the future. Why not take your pen in hand and drop him a line—his address being Department of Economics, Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass.

I should have reported last month that Freddie Carroll was elected Vice-President of the Boston Alumni Association. My apologies to Freddie for leaving this out.

Bob Burns and Chet Brett conveniently found some business to attend to in Philadelphia the day following the championship Princeton and Dartmouth basketball game, so flew down for the game.
