Joe Egolf writes from Pittsburg that Doug Gorton and he expect to be in Hanover next fall for a visit. Being a salesman these days with nothing to sell except on high priority is a very precarious business, says Joe, a second child, a boy arrived on March 13 this year. Congratulations, Joe. Joe reports that Shirley Austin was sworn into the Navy as a lieutenant, during March. Shirley will be in the Navy's Aviation Unit. Thanks for your nice letter,Joe.

Congratulations to Pete Wheatley, who, on July 7th, was appointed first assistant district attorney of Norfolk-Plymouth counties by Dist. Att. Edmund R. Dewing. Pete is a graduate of Abington High School. Dartmouth College, and Harvard Law School, and was admitted to the Mass. Bar in 1927. He is a past president of Brockton Kiwanis Club, president of Abington Mutual Fire Insurance Co., director of the North Abington Cooperative Bank, and has been town moderator since 1935. He is married and the father of three children. Nice work Pete, old boy!

From Charlie French, via Jim White comes the following information: Sid Dorsel is on call in the Air Force. His son enters Andover this fall—then Dartmouth. Joe Butler has received his commission in the Navy. Wally Thornton and Doug Gorton are both shooting golf in the 70's. Newcomb is ex-golfer but Badminton champion of Lakewood—also successful meat packer. Goddard is with the American Fork & Hoe, Goddard says Ward Cross is district attorney in Ashtabula. Walt Barnard writes that Tim Lyons is back at work after a siege of pneumonia. George Prager has lost 57 lbs. but still hits over the 200 mark.
Ev Baker, executive vice president of the American Unitarian Association and vice president of the Mass. Council of Churches has been elected minister of the First Unitarian Church at Cleveland, O. He will begin his new duties in September.
Bob Macauley has been a member of the Canadian Black Watch for some time.
Harold Collins writes in to report two sons, Christopher, 8, and Peter, 5, and enjoys, with Marjorie, his wife, their hobbies of gardening, home carpentry and tennis. Hal speaks of seeing Hart Ranney and Spec Ramsdell on occasion.
Hal Cowley, prexy of Hamilton College has written an article "A 90 year old conflict erupts again," printed in The Educational Record for April 1942. In it he opposes the proposal for the A. B. degree for 2 college years, which the Univ. of Chicago is advocating. This is a fine article, well written and well worth while for any of the class to read. Congratulations on a fine piece of work, Hal.
Bunny Coffin writes to say that Ax is president of the Glencoe Garden Club which is going in for Victory Gardens in a big way. Pres. Coffin gave quite a talk at the meeting. Bunny says Ax did a lot of Curling this winter and the photograph in our column shows Ax and his team as winners. "Isn't the hat on Ax fetching?—and he laughs at mine." Thanks Bunny for a nice letter.
