AVIATION CADET REMSEN H. R. CREGO '43 of Yeadon, Pa., was killed in the collision of two training planes at the Jacksonville, Fla., Naval air station on July 14 and became the first war casualty of his Dartmouth class. He was a passenger in one of the planes involved in the accident which took the lives of four.
Crego starred in the famous "fifthdown" football game between Dartmouth and Cornell and was given honorable mention last fall on the Associated Press All-Eastern team. A letterman in football, he also played basketball and was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He left Dartmouth to go into the service soon after the United States entered the war. On May 28, he was sent to J acksonville from Philadelphia where he had passed elimination training.
