In September, 1903, the class of 1907 took its humble place in the Dartmouth procession. In this year of 1943 one son of 1907 is enrolled in the summer-term entering class of 1947. His name is Dick Perkins, and his father is Dr. Ralph Perkins of Worcester, Mass.

Dick is seventeen, and under the accelerated college schedule will have only one and one-half years of college life before he is subject to call into the Service. Before entering Dartmouth he spent one year at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia and three years at Worcester Academy, from which he was graduated in June of this year. At the Academy he was one of the officers of the Rifle Club, and at Dartmouth he is already a member of the Glee Club.

The Burlington, Vt., Free Press of August 6 carried the following interesting report of our classmate, Charles A. Wing:

"Back to Montpelier will come one of its former residents next Sunday to be the preacher at the Union Service in the Church of the Messiah. Rev. Charles A. Wing, at present minister of the 'President's' Church, Quincy, Mass., was born in Montpelier and here received his early education before going to Dartmouth College. Dr. Wing entered business in Boston after completing his college work and had a very successful but very brief career. He left business to serve the church and has held pastorates in several of the largest Unitarian churches in the United States.

"Because of high scholastic standing, Dr. Wing was awarded the much coveted Crufts Fellowship which enabled him to study in Europe. Upon finishing he returned to the United States and accepted an invitation to be pastor of the Unitarian Church at Concord, N. H. There he was ordained and installed at a very impressive service November 26, 1912."

Maurice Smith is reported to be stationed at an evacuation hospital in England.

It is reported from Hanover that Harry Wellman has been confined to Dick's House for several weeks and is now convalescing at his home. He has made a recent trip to New Brunswick, which strongly suggests a fishing expedition, and we hope indicates that he is making a good recovery and will shortly resume his duties at Tuck School.
