It was good to hear from Harold Hess that he was completely recovered from his long battle with pneumonia of last winter. In the good old days of college, Harold impressed me as of tall, slender build, and of recent years he has seemed to show no evidence of accumulated avoirdupois; but he now tips the scales at one hundred eighty, and unless OPA hears of it and does something to restrict his diet, he may join the heavy weights.

This fall Harold and Grace took a vacation permit and traveled to Sugar Hill, making a stop at Hanover on the way back just to get the salty tang from the atmosphere, as the Navy would say it. Harold reports the class as solvent with all bills paid and a small surplus; but his treasurer's report will give you the details. Suffice to offer our congratulations on a task well done.

In September, O. W., Amy Smith, Edith, and I had the great pleasure of a day with Vic and Florence Cutter at New London, and it was a great day. We all agreed that the presence of the class would render it a perfect day. The damage done by the hurricane of five years ago has been completely obliterated, and when Hitler has likewise disappeared, the first Saturday of August will give us all, in our trek to "Musa," a most intense pleasure.

Vic calls himself a farmer, now having retired from all other efforts, except for about one hundred vital interests. Dynamic is the word for him. Happy and physically strong, he assumes the role of gentleman farmer with eclat.

Capt. Herbert L. Kelley U.S.N.M.C. has been transferred from the command of the First Naval District at Boston to the Puget Sound Navy Yard. His new address is Dispensary, Puget Sound Navy Yard, Bremerton, Wash. We shall miss Kel and Frances in this vicinity, for they have been "regulars" in attendance at class affairs.

George (Gink) Ford has sent the Alumni office a new address, 729 Park Ave., New York City 21.
