This month the secretary is obliged to draw on his imagination more heavily than usual. Reason, no doubt, is the extreme cold in Dec., followed by the freezing of fuel oil and gasoline which has congealed all news at its source. However, the Christmas spirit did release the season's greetings from eight members, viz., Chase, Dunlap, Fairbanks, Lougee, Richard Paul, Richardson (40° below zero) Spencer (who arrived in St. Pete, just before Christmas), Wendell Williams. Some took time out to append the season's greeting to the Class.
Pattee, our only retired Professor, is still living at his old home in Coronado Beach by permission of the U. S. Army.
John Lew finds living at Exeter more agreeable than ever, since he is able to see Geo. Hardy (our greatest American traveler) at intervals. George's grandson, also George, is now at Exeter, and John Lew reports him a most interesting fellow.
Pardon the secretary for mentioning it, but he has a good supply of anthracite with equipment to use it. Congratulations are in order.
Postage stamps have not been rationed!
