Doc. Lougee—His son, Laurence '29, has been transferred to the Mountains of Colorado where he is finding the skiing quite to his liking. You will recall that he enlisted in the ski corps last spring in order that his 4 years' experience at Hanover might be of service in our country's final victory. May good fortune attend him.
Charlie Spalding— His daughter Elizabeth, now Mrs. Burnham, tells us that Charlie left for Florida this morning, Feb. 8, winter weather in N. E. being not too agreeable although he is much better than a year ago. Sorry, did the best we could, but had no influence with the weather. Address is Jacksonville Beach, Fla., General Delivery.
Fred Walker—We were grieved to read in a Boston paper on Jan. 13 that Mrs. Walker passed away on the 12 th. We knew that she had been in ill health for some years and that Fred was devoting his every thought to her comfort and happiness. Our sympathy goes to him in his loss.
Mrs. Walker was a well-known writer of Children's Stories of which 15 volumes have been published in this country and Europe.
As the secretary pens this sad news of Fred's loss, he is reminded of the beautiful Gold-Bronze medallion of the "Dartmouth Row" done in Bas-relief which Fred presented to each member of the Class at our 25th reunion. To prove that it is still appreciated I beg to record that for nearly 30 years it has served me faithfully as a paper weight on my desk and is now before me as a constant reminder of the College we all knew so well. If it be not too late, Fred, I thank you.
