The results of our participation in the Fund campaign not yet having been revealed to me, we'll have to forego any comment for the moment. As far as our reunion was concerned, there appear to have been several small ones—very small. Dick Francis and I had one of those, the climax of which was a long, loud Wah-Hoo-Wah.

For the present, the executive committee has decided that Matty and I will continue as treasurer and secretary-chairman. I'm sorry, in a way, that it means you'll have to continue to hear my corny articles for a while longer. The new executive commit- tee is now composed of Sid Cardozo, Stink Davis, Walt Dunlap, Bob Foley, Bob Lang, Cy MacKinnon, and Bud Walls. As a mat- ter of fact, how long any of us can con- tinue to operate will depend on our duty status.

I've waited a long time to say this, but it gives me the greatest pleasure to announce that Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hyatt of Glencoe, 111., announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Eleanor, Ensign, USNR, to none other than the former strikeout king, your correspondent. She's Wells '40 and stationed at New London. What am I doing here in Georgia? Being slightly out of this world, these articles ought to be even cornier. Further plans now under discussion.

Bob Emlen and Cora Peabody, Milton, Mass., were married July 21. She's a Vassar, and for the last two years has been on the faculty of the Germantown Friends' School. Ann Kelly, the lovely New Yorker, and Lt. (jg) Butch Slattery, not so lovely, were married June 26, with Whitsafoot Mays and Howie Van Bommel helping to usher. The no-hit ranks are slowly being chopped into. Smith '4l has donated Edna Mann, Rehoboth, Mass., to us and Bliss Thorne. Wedding May 28. He's a lt. in the AAF Transport Command. Corp. Bill Baxter AAF and Virginia Miller, Montclair, were married May 22. If Callaway would keep his yellow sheet up to date, I wouldn't have to tell you all about these things. This next is a real strike, and a very definite indication that the warm-up doesn't follow over into the game. It all boils down to the fact that Skidmore will stop at nothing. Evelyn Fenn, West Hartford, and Ensign Dick Holt were married June 5. John Merrill and Jack Donovan helped to usher. That combination would slaughter any wedding.

And still it comes. Lt. George Kingsbury and Jean Pitblado, of Keene and Oregon State slip in with an announced engagement; as does Lt. Paul Urion and Dorothy Wieboldt, of Glencoe and Northwestern. Ah, Glencoe. Alice Frey, Milwaukee and Connecticut College, and Aviation Cadet Rolliston Linscott were married sometime in June. Got that date, Callaway? I wonder when I'll be able to say something about Lang and Reno in our love column. Lt. Fred Thorpe and Martha Campbell, Tullahoma, Tenn., were married June 19. To bring you up to date on one of our growing families, the La Junta, Colo., Ferien Davis's have been sporting young Alan, alias Doc, since last December 17. Some day we'll get up to date on our information.

To slip back into the service for the moment, Blacky Van Kirk, Lieut., is in Africa, and from all I can gather, life in Africa consists of living in some villa, drinking not-too-sharp wine, and swimming in the Medit. Fran Reilly has been commissioned an ensign and assigned to the Navy's Legal Division in Washington. Bill Bronk has been commissioned in the Seacoast Artillery.

As far as the balance of the war is concerned, you can relax; Aberdeen turned out an Ordnance officer in the form of David (Stella) Hosman. The first B.S. in Textile Engineering conferred by the Phila. Textile Institute was given to Capt. George Litchfield, Qm. Corps. Carmelo Gugino was promoted to Captain. He's serving with the Indo-Chinese wing of the Air Transport Command. Along the same line, it's now Major Harry O'Connor.

By this time Herb Christiansen should have graduated from Quartermaster O.C.S. at Camp Lee. He transferred from the Armored Force in April. Lt. (jg) Heinie Beck is at Camp Peary, Va., as assistant to the Executive Officer. In case you've forgotten, Vic Johnson, the Crosby demon, was with us freshman year, and transferred to West Point. It's now Lt. Col. Johnson. Capt. Dan Marshall is with the 3rd Marine Raider Bn. If any of you have a grudge against the Washingto?i Star, now is the time to do something about it, because King Van Denburg is at the city desk.

Lt. Sid Cardozo is at Pine Camp with the 34th A.R. Tech. Sgt. Robert Loveless Lang is with the Office of Strategic Services in Washington. His answer to my indication of getting married was, "I go on with my old beliefs that while a bachelor's bed is, like great wealth, somewhat in the nature of a public trust, there are only two classes of happy people—married women and single men." (Sour grapes.) Lt. Tom Antrim writes from some Southwest Pacific island that in spite of his isolation, he managed, before leaving, to become engaged to Mary (Red) Barrowman, from Des Moines. If there were any more news I wouldn't have room to print it.

Bill Russell sends the latest information on Ted Hunter. He was married on May Bth in Upper Montclair, N. J., to Peggy King, Wheaton '4l, architect from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Ted is a Naval Architect at the Supervision of Ships office, New York, on a transfer from the Boston Navy Yard. His present address is 122 West 13th St., New York City.

LT. ROBERT C. HARVEY '38 USNR who has made friends in the south Pacific.

Secretary, 41 Fifth Ave., New York, N. Y.
