March 1944 ELEAZAR CATE, WILLIAM W. LOUGEE

Lougee—Doc is still in good spirits but will feel better when the war becomes history. He must expect to live a long time yet.

Porter—The sad news of Frank's passing in December has just come through. No details yet, but the In Memoriam section will carry whatever information we are able to obtain.

Spaulding—A letter from Charles seems cheerful, so we infer he is feeling better. He says he expects to return to Melrose, Mass., in May. Gas on ration card A may enable us to get more news from him, as you know he is not too voluble when he has pen in hand.
