WITH PRESIDENT DICKEY making his first appearance before the entire undergraduate college, Dartmouth Night in Webster Hall on November 9 will be one of the most important observances of the traditional'night since it was inaugurated in 1895; The faculty will have met with Dartmouth's new leader at a brief induction ceremony on the morning of November 1, but for the students of, the College the "family party" on Dartmouth Night will constitute Mr. Dickey's inaugural.

John R. McLane 'O7, chairman of the executive committee of the Board of Trustees, will preside at the Webster Hall program, and Nichol M. Sandoe Jr. '45, president of Green Key, will participate as the representative of the undergraduates. Dr. Earl Cranston '16, Phillips Professor of Religion, will give the invocation, and Sidney C. Hayward '26, Secretary of the College, will read the telegraphic greetings from alumni, a tradition resumed this year with the lifting of the wartime restriction on wires. The Band and Glee Club will fill their usual important roles in the celebration.

While the College is gathering in Webster Hall with President Dickey, alumni groups will meet throughout the country and the world to observe Dartmouth Night. College representatives at some of these meetings include William H. McCarter '19, director of athletics, at New York; Prof. Herbert F. West '22 at Washington; Prof, Charles J. Lyon at Hartford, Conn.; and Prof. Herbert W. Hill at Nashua, N. H.
