As one works as secretary through the years he almost unconsciously lists the members upon whom he can depend for the functioning of the class. For a long time the title of Old Guard has been given them. Charlie Luce was one of these men. Devoted to the College and class interests he was always present at our gatherings. As secretary in the late twenties his work merited the highest commendation. In his interest in the individual welfare of members of the class I have known him to travel long distances in order to assist them without thought of effort required and even when his own health was not of the best. We shall miss Charlie. To his family we extend our deepest sympathy.

The Boston Dartmouth dinner on February 28 was well attended and the Dartmouth spirit ran high. The words of one of our classmates at the close expresses our sentiments, "Hoppy has certainly performed a great work for the College." Those of our class in attendance were: Cherbuck Edwards, O. W. Smith, Pip Howard, Vic Cutter, Ned Kenerson and your secretary.

The date for the Five-year Class Dinner is May 11, and the place, Schraffts' in Boston.

Bunker Schlatter of Madison, Wis., writes that his teaching days at the University are over and that he and Florence are enjoying life in the suburbs where he can really loaf. With Dorothy in East Lansing, Mich., where her husband is a faculty member of Michigan State University, is a daughter just one year old. Bunker Jr., while travelling somewhere in Germany, has permitted Grandpa Eddie to spoil a grandson, the second ticket to the Grandfathers' Club. Bunker Jr. has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal as Eddie modestly says, "for using his head on a certain occasion."
