Word has been received from his father that Herb Bottjer was killed somewhere in Germany, March 6. Herb went up through the ranks and was a captain at the end. His companionability and all-around good fellowship made him outstanding in Hanover. A brief tribute appears in the In Memoriam section.
Frank O'Brien is now with the Continental Can Cos. at their branch plant, Eastern Ave., Maiden..... Norm Anderson has been missing in action since May 1944. Norm was honored for meritorious achievement in aerial flight as pilot and division leader attached to a bombing squadron in action against the Japs from April 20 to May 17, 1944. He repeatedly pressed home daring powerful attacks at low altitude in the face of intense accurate anti-aircraft fire, on one occasion skillfully leading his division in a vital bombing raid which resulted in the destruction of an enemy anti-aircraft gun position CharlieFowler is now engaged to Katherine Louise O'Donnell of New Britain, Conn TommyCohen, Lt. USNR is now married to the former Sally Ann Lowengart of San Francisco. Tommy is on leave from duty in the Pacific for a short time Roily Bialla, Capt. AUS is now married to Marian Louise Dunham of Washington, D. C. Mrs. Bialla was graduated from the University of Minnesota and for the past two years has been living in Washington. Roily was associated with the law firm of White and Case, New York City before the war and is now serving in the Judge Advocate General's Department.

Ralph L. Griffith sent a note from a hospital base in England. He felt a bit homesick for the winter at Hanover Lt. BibsBankart was seeing a bit of France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. Most of the cities were mere shells and rubble. He found his French handy though he couldn't match the speed with which the natives use theirs. Tony Genewich is enjoying the wide open spaces in Pecos, Texas, where he is stationed.
