It was a grand and social gathering of the classes of 1901 through 1905 that met at Schrafft's in Boston, May 11. We were especially honored this year in having present with us and of us the presidents of the two great friendly rivals, Dartmouth and Cornell, "Hoppy" 1901 and Ezra Day 1905. They talked with us, off the record, of their separate ideas of the problems of the colleges and universities today and in the future.

It was good to see "Rock" Newman and Bob Estabrook. Bob retired May 1 and says he hasn't been back to the office since. I understand that he has some real avocational hobbies, such as wood-working. Beezle Parker was there and seemed to know more men in all the classes than anyone else. Beezle is in the insurance business and says it is rushing. He brought me a real gift, five boxes of matches. "William the Silent" Hall got lost in a snow storm arid was late but made it and was .in a very happy mood.

Roy Hatch came way up from New Jersey to join us and we enjoyed seeing him looking so well and vigorous. He has a tough job as class agent and we must all chip in and give him something for the College, which is going through its hardest test in our day.

Dalyrymple, W. C. Hill and Carl Brackett were with us and Schrafft's gave us a splendid dinner at a most moderate price for these days. More of our boys around Boston should come next year.

Louis and Ethel Dow cordially invited my wife and me to spend the night with them at their charming home on old Brattle Street in Cambridge. We had coffee served in our bedroom in the morning and all the nice little touches of friendly hospitality that make a visit one always remembers.
