Formerly a key man in organizing and distributing War department and Hollywood films to battle areas all over the world, Orton H. Hicks '2l has been named head of MGM's 16 mm globecircling operations. With "Metro-mobile" road show circuits, he will go over the world to produce regular Hollywood features and shorts on the 16 mm films available for overseas markets. Recently a number of MGM men from foreign countries have come to take a two-months' training course under him. Hicks' first position was with Eastman Kodak. Later he was president of Films, Inc., and also organized the Seven Seas Film Corp., to provide steamship companies with entertainment facilities. During the war, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, he served as director of the Distribution Division, Signal Corps, Photographic Center.
