After a dinner of clam chowder and fried lobster with Ned Kenerson at Ebsen's, Salem Willows (this is no commercial), on May 7, Ned revealed his plans for the Reunion. Arrival on Friday, either by antiquated car or bus from White River, greetings or inquiries like this, Who in the devil is that guy? getting settled in assigned dormitory, chatter and more chatter until the cry, Where do we eat? The President's reception in the evening.
Saturday morning at 10 the meeting o£ the General Alumni o£ the eight classes addressed by President Dickeyl The Alumni Ball Saturday evening. Between times a grand family chat, seeing the town, etc.
Sunday morning at 9:30 a beautiful ride to Vic Cutter's in New London, where the day will be spent, as so many of the class have learned in the past, by cementing old friendships. Vic and Florence are looking forward to this day with great anticipation. "Musa" has undergone a great face lifting since the hurricane, the beach and its surroundings, the wild flower gardens and the outdoor lunch area are all places of beauty as never before.
Leigh Kimball writes an interesting letter stating that he will be with us on July 19 and ends with these words: "A rollicking air keeps running through my head; the jingle below seems to suit the tune: I am bound for Dear Old Dartmouth And the scenes of long ago, There to roam around the campus With the boys I used to know, Bright and fair may be the weather, And Old Dartmouth's clock go slow While I am at Reunion With the boys I used to know.
Tim Lyman M.D., of Sacramento, Calif., in sending regrets for our party of July 19-21 tells of the interest of university men on the Pacific Coast in Dartmouth: "The University men here sort of marvel and wonder at the enthusiasm and loyalty of a Dartmouth man. They all have a good word for Dartmouth. If a Dartmouth football team loses, they joke me, and if it wins they never fail to congratulate." Many inquiries concerning Tim will be made at Reunion and we wish he were to be with us.
