Those of us who were in Hanover July 19th, 20th, and 21st, send greetings and salutations to those who were not present at our Fortieth Reunion.

Counting the women and children there were about too present, and a grand time was had by all, including Lonnie Russ.

We were especially glad to welcome Helen Beetle and Anne Perry and also Barbara Chapin, Chris Grosser, (Virginia Herr's husband) Bill Page's sister, Robert Russell, and Louise and Doris Webster.

The Class attended President Dickey's Reception in a body Friday night and a large portion of them were present at the Alumni Meeting Saturday morning. After the class picture was taken Saturday afternoon the members were entertained by the Halsey Edgertons at their home on Occum Ridge. As usual Lorraine was a most charming hostess, ably assisted by the Hanover '06 wives. In the garden Halsey "poured" with the aid of Bobbie. Saturday evening the women folks were entertained at dinner at the Outing Club while the men attended the class dinner in the Hanover Inn Pavilion.

Dave Main presided and after the reports of the Secretary and the Treasurer were read and approved he called on Ned French and Francis Childs to tell about the college and the Alumni Council.

Norm Russell proposed that the class raise a fund to be given to the College at our Fiftieth Reunion. Charlie Milham moved that the President appoint a committee of three to undertake the raising of a "1906 Fiftieth Reunion Fund" on a purely voluntary basis. At the suggestion of Halsey Edgerton it was decided that these funds be paid directly to the College instead of the Class as they would be rated as a tax deduction from income.

The President appointed a nominating committee consisting of Hatch, Childs and Whittemore. Chairman Hatch made his nominating report in Montreal French and after it had been properly translated the slate was as follows:

President, David F. Main Vice-President, Robert M. Blood Treasurer, Norman Russell Secretary, Edward B. Redman Member of Exec. Com., Converse A. Chellis

The election of the above officers was duly consumated.

Halsey then reported to the class that he had just received word that the mother of our Remsen Varick had made the college a gift of $125,000 dollars.

Reverend Noble Bowlby led the class in the recital of the Lord's Prayer in memory of the seventeen members who had passed on since the 35th Reunion.

After dinner most of the men and women attended Love Rides the Rails, an extremely entertaining performance in which the audience took as much part as the players.

Friday and Saturday the weather was so perfect that it had to rain Sunday. Up till noon it looked as though the picnic would have to be called off but it let up so that we could get to the Canoe Club and be served Ross McKenny's famous barbecues under the big tent.

There were several men back this year who had not been present at reunions for a long time. Among them were Dakin, Fish, Hagberg, Annie Moore, Richardson, Hal Smith and Wood. Freddie Welch from Pullman, Washington, came the longest distance although Bob Richardson from Chile would have won if he hadn't stopped over in New York for a couple of years.

Following is the list of those present: Florence and Bob Adrience, Olive and Bob Blood, Noble Bowlby, Margaret and Gott Brooks, Catherine and Arthur Chapin, Grace and Con Chellis, Leila and Francis Childs, Randall Cooke, Cogswell, Connell, Margaret and Arthur Cragin, Cromwell, Cutting, Shorty Davis, Genevieve and Walter Dakin, Lorraine and' Hal Edgerton, Edna and Mike Edgerton, Ethel and Harold Fish, Ned French, Marie and Foster Guyer, Hagberg, Max Hartmann, Dan Hatch, Florence and Ned Herr, Florence and Arthur Holmes, Fred Jones, Tom Keady, Ruth and Jack Kingsbury, Bill McGrail, Don Mclntire, Dave Main, Anne and Arthur Meservey, Alma and Charlie Milham, Effie and Annie Moore, Edith and Rannie Morse, Mary and Bill Page, Fred Parker, Abby and Charles Pierce, Ethel and Walter Powers, Ruth and Herb Rainie, Eleanor and Ned Redman, Bob Richardson, Harold Rugg, Lonnie Russ, Helen and Norm Russell, George Seager, Ruth and Harold Smith, Joe Smith, Henry Thrall, Bobby Wallace, Marion and Beanie Waring, Pauline and Merton Webster, Freddie Welch, Helen and Harvey Whittemore, Warner White, Marguerite and Bill Wood.
