FRIDAY, JUNE 14, 1946, saw a very successful meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Asso- ciation of Maine. President Dickey, Mrs. Dickey, Prof. John Stearns, and Mrs. Stearns were guests of honor at a banquet held at the Mansion House, Poland Spring, following a cocktail party. Business at the meeting was confined to the report of the nominating committee, which was as follows:
President—Boyd H. Parker '32, Portland Vice-President—W. Bradford Chase, '36, Portland
Treasurer—Dana C. Douglass Jr., '37, Portland
Secretary—Allen Hazen '39, West Buxton
There being no other nominations, one ballot was cast for the above slate.
Professor Stearns then spoke on some of the problems which Dartmouth must face in adjusting herself to the veteran as a student, and President Dickey outlined the way for Dartmouth men in particular to help the world become a safe place to live in, by devising controls, and promptly, for the vast power which man has created.
