I am hoping that the November issue will clear up the matter of my present address. It should have read 1625 E- Grand Avenue, Des Moines 16, lowa. There is some disadvantage being out here in the wild west. The Editor and I got our signals crossed on the October material, but it is all supposed to be straightened out by now. [Ed.: It is.]
There is a steadfast rule that all material must be in Hanover by the tenth of the month preceding the issue in which it will appear. This is one reason why some of the news may seem dated to you. But nevertheless, your letters will be welcomed at any time, and I promise the material will appear in our class notes at the first opportunity.
Art Pounds writes that he and Jean are finally settled at 431/2 South Main. He also reports a green class of freshmen and a return of spirit on the campus. Art and Jean live in the same house as Rod Walser and Cindy.
Art Nichols has a whole batch of 1945 news this month. He mentions having seen Homer Yates and learning that he will be in Hanover this fall readying himself for the diplomatic service. Art also reports that Roland Beers, his wife Helen, and year-old son Jimmy are interning at Baylor University Hospital. Bill Gauntlett is studying at Arizona. Paul Talbot is working for the HealyTibbetts Construction Cos., in San Francisco. Herb Sandberg is attending Graduate School at Columbia. Art says that Wayne Morgan is a sales engineer for the Warren Petroleum Corp., of Tulsa. Incidentally, Jug and Betty Sue White, of Oklahoma A. and M., are engaged and the wedding was set for October 26, at Tonkawa, Oklahoma. Ellie Mover is in the sales department of Bunny Bears Products of Cambridge, Mass.
Among recent Hanover Inn visitors listed were Harry Durkin, Donald Session and wife, Harvey Turnure and recent bride, Bob Epstein, Rod Walser and wife, and Chan Harwood and wife.
Loring Wood is another '45 back in Hanover for work at the Med. School.

Geof Maclay was presented a baby son, Geof Jr., by wife Edie on September 23. The Maclays are living in Milwaukee where Geof is working for The Landish Cos., in nearby Cudahy, Wisconsin.
Three more doctors have been heard from. Dr. Jerry Peacock is working in Bellevue Hospital, New York City. Dr. Johnny Brooks is at the Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Jim Houghton is interning at the Medical Center in Jersey City.
Other '45's are hard at work in various jobs. Scott Parrot is working for the Daily Record in Boston. Murray Smart is a salesman for the Bolton-Smart Co., Inc., also in Boston. Monroe Taylor can be found at the U. S. Pipe and Foundry Cos., in Philadelphia. Jim Rodney is a packaging expert for Shellmar Products Corp., of Chicago, and Jim Fannon is an art cataloguer and appraiser for the Kende Galleries in New York City.
The other day at work I had a pleasant surprise—I was called down to the reception desk and there stood Bill Viggers, probably the only '45 from Des Moines. Bill was home on vacation from his job at The Clarey Multiplier Corp., in New York. Proving it is a small world, I found out that Bill had previously worked for Bankers Life Company, provider of my bread and butter, and that now he was living in New York with Bob Pease, one of my former roommates. Bill and I had lunch together and then made arrangements for a session here at the house for the next evening. (The arrangements being that my wife, Phyl, said it was all right.)
Bill mentioned having seen Jim Broderick, also a happy Clarey employee, and Don DeB.Campbell, among others. It seems to be customary for all '4s's in New York City to gather at the Dartmouth Club each Tuesday afternoon after work to discuss events of the day and the days passed. So if any of you happen to be in New York on a Tuesday, you might drop in and see some old friends.
Later in the evening it semed logical that we should call Bob Pease in New York. And that we did, dragging Bob out of bed in the wee small hours. Bob has recently been advanced to assistant buyer of modern furniture at Macy's.
I relate the sordid details of the Viggers Incident only to invite one and all of you who might come to Des Moines to join me in a repeat performance. Phyl and I will be most happy to see each of you.
