DURING the last three months, Alumni of Central New York have had the opportunity to get first-hand reports of the' Hanover scene from none other than Meryll Frost '44, member of Tuss McLaughry's coaching staff and H. V. Olsen '22, distinguished Dean of the Amos Tuck School.

The Club opened its 1946-4.7 season with a very successful and enjoyable Smoker at the University Club of Syracuse on Friday, November 15, the night before the Cornell game. Meryll Frost, Captain of the 1945 team (and thorn in the side of Bill Orange) gave a most interesting talk on the athletic outlook for the College and showed some excellent movies of the Dartmouth-Syracuse game. After the movies all hands gathered around the bar for a question and answer session. Meryll left us all with a much better understanding of the athletic situation in Hanover and all present hope that he will pay us another visit in the near future. Those in attendence were:

Dean Olsen brought a touch of Hanover weather with him but in spite of the fact that the thermometer was hovering around zero, thirty-one alumni and a half a dozen guests, including Dean Thomas Carroll of the Syracuse University College of Business turned out for a dinner meeting at the University Club on Thursday evening, February 6. "Olie" reviewed the problems which now confront the average Tuck School man, and later in his talk proceeded to give a very enlightening discussion of business conditions today. On Wednesday, February 5, Bill Morton arranged a tour of the Precision Castings Company for Dean Olsen and that night the officers and trustees of the Onondaga Savings Bank gave a dinner in his honor. On Thursday Fred Smith arranged a tour of the Carrier Corporation and at noon, Mr. Cloud Wampler, Carrier's popular president, was host at a lunch in honor of the Dean.

Those hardy individuals who braved the cold for the Olsen dinner were Jay D. Brown '97, Phil Winchester '99, Jim Carpenter '18, C. J. Gabel '23, "Shiner" Beggs '23, Charlie Howard '23, Maxwell M.
