First a letter from Chuck Fendrich, who is still ensign. The message comes from Kwajalein where our boy is on the LCI (L) 1067. The craft is undergoing repairs at that base. His next move will be back to the States for decommissioning of the ship, not Chuck. Ensign Charlie Whitmore is on a sister craft headed for the same fate at the same time. Leo Warring is operating out of Tsingtao and according to Chuck is making the move for USN. Good luck, Leo.

Charlie Reardon is still with the staff of the Supply Commander Marianas on Guam. BillScherer came down from Tokyo a month before the letter from Chuck. Bill is stationed now at the NOB on Guam. Min Lambert is there with Joint Communications. HowardMcNeil is on the YMS 400 operating out of Guam. Howard has made the step, is now USN.

Bill, Charlie Reardon, Howard, and Chuck met President Emeritus Hopkins on Guam and had a reunion with him at the Officer's Club there one evening. The boys even dragged Rear Admiral Pownall, Governor of Guam, down to the gathering.

Chuck closed by hoping to be at Tuck next fall when the old Navy will be tired of his presence. Good luck, Chuck. Write some more.

While on a Southern Lacrosse trip, your correspondent ran into three alumni at the Naval Academy. John Carlwright is in his second year in the cage. He is a member of the varsity crew; his hands are well-blistered and calloused. Frank Beal and Dick Clapp are plebes there. Dick is playing plebe lacrosse. All three are a bit sorry that they left Dartmouth, but I guess they have decided to live it out. It isn't perhaps fair to Dick to say that he doesn't like it, because he does so far. Be good, men, and you will all be officers and gentlemen soon. Seriously though you're doing a good job, keep it up.

Hear ye. Hear ye. The DNAA is to have a reunion this summer here in Hanover. AlGustafson is the Reunion Chairman, and he will be sending you information on the reunion very soon this month.

The weekend of the 13th through 15th of June has been selected for the gathering. That is Commencement Week, and there will be much doing around the old campus. First there will be a dormitory set aside for the DNAA at a cost of $2 per night per person so bring your family, at least your wife. You will get a reunion brochure from Max Norton of the College concerning room reservation some time this month.

The schedule for the weekend as tentatively set up is as follows:

Friday, 13th: Afternoon—Class Day Exercises Evening —President's Reception Evening —lO P.M., the Commencement and Reunion Dance at the Gym

Saturday, 14th: Morning —The meeting of the General Association of Alumni. President Dickey and others will speak including some members of the graduating classes. Afternoon—a P.M., Baseball game: Dartmouth vs. Maryland Evening —9 P.M. The Dartmouth Players and The Glee Club Concert Sunday, 15th: Morning —Commencement and Baccalaureate at the Bema Special DNAA features are a banquet at 6:30 P.M. in the Colonial Room in Thayer on Friday, the 13th, and a picnic and barbecue from 4 P.M. on at Moose Mountain Lodge. The last mentioned place is a beautiful lodge where a lot of fun and food and beer will flow.

A Reunion Tax will be set up by the committee headed by A 1 Gustafson. I hesitate to say how much it will be, but it will cover the banquet and the blast at Moose Mountain Lodge and other sundry gatherings, perhaps between $7 and $l5. Anyway the Committee will send you the needed information shortly. Hoping to see all you old seadogs in June. Good Luck.
