Dartmouth and 'O7 lost a loyal member and a devoted friend when Ted Foster died on April. 16. The sincere sympathy of Ted's classmates has been offered to Mrs. Foster and their children. Appropriately, Ted's four-year roommate, Judge McLane, has expressed for him- self and the class the sorrow all will feel with Ted's passing. Judge's memorial will be found in the In Memoriam columns.

"Unless all New England sinks overnight, Harry McDevitt '07, pride of all Boston and peer of all song leaders, will be at the dais with Eddie Earle '17 sounding the pitch." This is a quotation from the April issue of the Dartmouth Club of New York News. Here is the aftermath: George Liscomb organized an '07 round-up for New York's Annual Alumni Dinner. Twelve '07 men attended: John Taylor, Sam Bartlett, Rocky Hazen, Harry Whitaker, Jim O'Neill, Harry Storrs, Bishop Niles, Harry McDevitt, Mike Smith, Bill Minsch, Warner White and George Liscomb. Jim O'Neill reports that Harry McDevitt, supported by MortHull '09 and a group of campus vocalists, stole the show and made the dinner a huge success. If you doubt it, show up at '07's Fortieth. Harry Mac will do his stuff.

And now comes the May number of the Dartmouth Club (of N. Y.) News. lt's priceless, as a tribute to 'O7 and as a curtain-raiser for '07's Fortieth.—Read it and weep, and sign up for June 20-22.

"The power of song".... "make me a boy again just for tonight" .... College Hall rocking chairs and a clear June moon .... no, they hadn't sung together for nearly 40 years, but that even harmony sounded like a trained glee club, not just, a pickup '07 septette .... and what- songs .... that '07 medley .... they call him the peer of all-time college songleaders .... Harry McDevitt is Dartmouth." (Thank you, Dartmouth Club News, and Dick Carpenter '10, news editor.)— And you, '07 men, can you afford to miss '07's Fortieth and '07 songs by Harry Mac!

You ask how all this happened—in New York? Quoting the news further, "A little old lady in black bombazine who says she is running next year's Boston dinner wrote in three days after the N. Y. dinner asking for the secret of its success. She was told it was just plain showmanship and if she craved success should enlist 'Squire' George Liscomb '07 to do some advance planning for her show. It was love for the Squire that brought us our troubadour talent."
