That fine looking young naval officer who attended our reunion, Ensign Reuben Parker Prichard Jr., was married on November 27 to Martha Jean Moore in the United States Naval Academy Chapel, Annapolis, Maryland. Congratulations to Ensign Prichard!
The Fortieth Reunion must have been good! The boys are still talking about it. Bill Sanborn writes:
"Getting back to the 40th was one of the best things I have done for some time. I have finally settled down near Boston again, working for a firm testing building materials—the Thompson & Litchtner Cos., Brookline, Mass. I am very happy in my new work and like the firm very much."
"Cobe Coburn had a great time at Hanover last June I had a lot of admiration for this year's football team."
Bob Lyon and his pal Guy Dudley "are having a little reunion of our own in Washington." Bob lives there and Guy, no doubt, is en route to Florida.
King McCoy has been spending some time in the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston, where he underwent an operation in December. He writes that he has just been released and will be laid up for a while. Our best wishes to him.
News from the retirement front. Cliff Norrzs writes that he has been retired since March 1, 1946 Leon Sprague has recently returned to Newington, Conn., from a year in California. While on the Coast he reports a visit in Seattle with Sam Barnes. Cbet Sandy, who retired last year and moved his home from Pittsburgh to Arlington, Va., seems to be getting real enjoyment out of his retirement. He recently spent ten weeks in Alabama with his daughter and her husband, who operate a 400-acre cattle farm in that State. His daughter, Chet reports, says everything on such a farm must produce, even the farmer's wife, "so she presented me with a fine big grandson. This is the second grandchild for me to crow about as my other daughter has a sweet little daughter 18 months old. Down on the farm in Alabama, I played nursemaid to a flock of chickens and got quite a kick out of it, but I would have nothing to do with the jeep or the tractor. They were too rough for me." Sounds like a pretty good life, Chet.
History repeats itself. Malcolm McLane '48 follows in his father's footsteps. Like Judge, 40 years or so ago, Malcolm was one of three Dartmouth graduates recently awarded Rhodes Scholarships. He is also captain of the Ski Team, served in the Army Air Corps during the war, and was a prisoner in Germany when the war ended.
