WE ARE REALLY SCRAPINC THE BARREL FORTHIS ISSUE. No great events have transpired between our last writing and the present—our local alumni are peacefully resuming a normal life following the Annual Banquet and Hanover Holiday. The Friday noon luncheons at the Mid-Day Club have been well attended. Bill Steck '31, our immediate past-president, continues to read the news- papers and inform the secretary of all of the news concerning local celebrities—good or bad. "Dutch" Irwin '11, never (?) misses a meeting—where's the rest of that loyal gang?

Walter A. Kirkpatrick writes to inform us that he is being transferred to Baltimore, Md. Sorry to lose you, Walter, and may the Baltimore Club welcome you with open arms.

NEW LIFE! NEW BLOOD!—We have a young committee, believe it or not, to plan our biggest festivity of the spring season. Headed by co-chairmen John Knutsen '40 and Ed Ferbert '42 the following alumni are going to put on a super-colossal dance at the Hotel Cleveland on Friday evening, April 2, for Dartmouth alumni and friends. Formal of course. Hal Newell '41, Bill Chilcote '47, Scotty Rogers '40, AL Hutton '41 and John Davenport '39. This party will naturally make the Yale, Smith, and Connecticut College Christmas dances seem trivial. It will be the one large college function in Cleveland dur- ing the spring vacation.

Dave Johnson '35 is Cleveland's representa- tive of the Vocational Committee and extends his invitation to all recent graduates in this area for guidance in job placement. Dave can be reached at the law firm of M. B. and H. H. Johnson in the Union Commerce Building.
