The 1911 Secretary Partnership of Thea and Nat Burleigh was broken up by Thea's death on the morning of.April 3. She was stricken with a very severe coronary thrombosis the day before the opening of College in the fall. By Thanksgiving, she was sufficiently recovered to leave the hospital and continued to improve at home until early in February when complications began to develop that were too great for her to overcome. She had not suf fered greatly and departed from us suddenly and peacefully. All through the winter months she had counted on being out again with the coming of spring and looked forward to join- ing other classmates at the Mountain View in June.

Always fond of all 1911'ers, she came to know many through her residence in Hanover and attendance at all reunions starting with the fifth. It gave her great pleasure to entertain them in her home when she could and regret when she could not. She culled many items of news from the papers and periodicals that made their way into the class notes. The news column will be the poorer without her help and contribution.

On March 15, death claimed another woman beloved by all classmates. Frank's mother, Mrs. Van H. Dodge, died in her eighty-sixth year after six years of invalidism. Ever since our Tenth Reunion when we started our pilgrimages to Whitefield following each reunion, "Mother" Dodge, as we all thought of her, was always there to give each and all of us a hearty and affectionate welcome to the Mountain View. We shall remember her always with esteem and affection. We extend to Frank our sincere sympathy, but rejoice that Mary has established herself as the gracious hostess of whom Mother Dodge was very proud.

A 1911 REUNION REMEMBRANCE OF TWO YEARS AGO: At Whitefield are, standing, left to right, Secretary Nat Burleigh and Leslie Hawkridge; sitting, Linda Hawkridge, Harold Bond, Elizabeth Patten, Bradley Patten, and Thea Burleigh, who died April 3 in Hanover after an illness of several months. Thea will be greatly missed by all for her kind hospitality and warm-heartedness toward everyone.
