PRESIDENT DICKEY announced the appointment recently of Robert G. Chaffee '36, a graduate student at Columbia University, as Curator of Geology at the College Museum. He will begin his duties June 15.

Following his graduation from Dartmouth, Mr. Chaffee was preparator in vertebrate paleontology at the American Museum of Natural History. From June 1938 to June 1942 he was assistant curator at the Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia.

For two years during the war he was engaged in map work for the government in Alaska and from June 1944 to April 1946 he was a lieutenant in the Navy, serving as a photo interpreter. At present he is studying for his Ph.D. degree.

As Curator of Geology at the College Museum, Mr. Chaffee will be in charge of geological collections and exhibits and will also organize field work.

A native of Rutland, Vt., he is married to the former Dorcas A. Dixon of Portsmouth, N. H.

Reynolds Trophy for 1947 as the outstanding Agent of a class more than 20 years out of college, and William G. Morton '28 (below) received the Harvey P. Hood Trophy for achievement as 1947 Class Agent among classes less than 20 years out of college.
