THE DARTMOUTH ALUMNI who attended the annual State Association dinner meeting at the Indianapolis Athletic Club, on April 2, felt certain of two things: (1) that they had had a swell informal get-together with Dean Stearns Morse, and (2) that they tried, but in most cases failed, to digest a chunk of roast beef off an aged bovine who undoubtedly has been receiving Social Security benefits since the late summer of 1933.

Professor Morse, seemingly undaunted by the weird but high-tariffed blue-plate special, discussed the excellent scholastic records made by recent freshman classes, gave us some interesting sidelights on the Great Issues course, and wound up the evening by briefing the grads on Hanover and current College activities.

We certainly enjoyed visiting with the alumni from around the state and hope they, as well as those who were unable to attend this meeting, will plan to be at our fall picnic outing—date to be announced later. Out-of-towners included Lew Veach '25, Richmond; Hank McKee '33, Hagerstown; Ross Borneman '38, Elkhart, who is moving to Indianapolis this month to become branch manager for American Coating Mills; "Ringer" Tom Huffman '50, Dayton, Ohio; and Ralph Tyler '16, son Larry Tyler '49, and guest J. O. Steck-all from Muncie. Others present were: John Mann '94; Dr. Walter Kelly '97; Alex Thomson '21; Rudy K. Haerle '23; Harold Buell '23; Hiram McKee '27; Walter Rusterholtz '31; Hank Kingdom '32; Bob Sweeney '34; Henry Peirce '34; Herb Knowles '35; Ed Eaton '37; Lew Williams '38; Bill McMurtrie '38; Lou High-mark '39; George Mahoney Jr. '40; Walter Kuhn Jr. '40; Dick Lash '47; Jim Woods '50; Smiley Chambers '50; Bob Good '51.
