DARTMOUTH INDIANS of the Arizona tribe gathered on March 30, at Tucson's Old Pueblo Club, to dine and smoke the peace pipe with visiting Sidney Hayward '26, Secretary of the College.

In the unforeseen absence of Chief Bob Fish '18, Sid was introduced by George Ferguson '21, who assured our itinerant alumnus that we equal the numbers of San Francisco and Los Angeles clubs with quality of the highest wampum.

Sid's remarks were particularly welcomed, for they gave this remote group a personal contact with Hanover activities during the past year, and effectively injected us with Dartmouth's problems for the future. Color slides gave most of these basking sun worshippers their first glimpse of snow this winter, and nostalgically rejuvenated the "hill wind" spirit in everyone's veins.

In a general discussion the tribe reassured Sid that the "vox clamantis" must not weaken, and that Arizona will continue to have worthy representation both in Hanover and throughout the Southwest.

Dartmouth men attending the dinner with wives and sweethearts were: John Harlow '28, Charlie Orvis '34, A 1 Steinbrecker '20, Bert Wood '14, Ferdie Obrenski '48, Ed McNamee '25, Bob Hale '31, Dick Murray '45, George Ferguson '21, Sid Hayward '26, Jack Feth '34, Chandler Hagen-Burger '33 and Max Edwards '44.
