Had dinner with Hoppy the last part of April and he told me that Charlie Crane had been elected an officer of the National Life Ins. Cos. with the title of assistant to the president. Charlie has been associated with the National Life about fifteen years and deserves the recognition given him.
As you probably know Charlie is the author of three successful books, Let Me Show YouVermont, Winter in Vermont and Pendrift.
Ruth and Jack Kingsbury have announced their retirement as directors of Merricourt. However they surely deserve a good rest after the many years of "mothering" a large group of children.
The class extends its sympathy to FrancisChilds on the death of his mother in her 93rd year.
Hugh Chapin '49, Art's son, has been elected chairman of next year's Winter Carnival. As director of entertainment he has been a very important cog in the Outing Club.
