Our lone representative in the Class of 1953, Harlan W. Fair, undoubtedly got the shock of his life when he was confronted with the gang of gray-beards who joined him for lunch on August 17, to bid him good luck on his way to Hanover. The very thought of being surrounded by Bob Elsasser '21, ArtGraham '24, George Foster '28, Jim Todd '38, and Jim Keating '1l, must have been frightening. (This correspondent gracefully avoided adding to the confusion by being out of the country.)

Fortunately, however, the presence of AndyPincus '51 was a compensating influence. Thanks to his clear and vigorous account of current activities at the College, Freshman Fair found fairly fertile food for fun (and work) in the four years to come.

George Foster had just returned from the heat of New Hampshire. It is reported that he was bursting with information, some authentic, the rest mere scuttlebutt, regarding the happenings in Hanover during the preceding school year. My informants tell me his remarks were interesting and ord. Chances are this reporter will never know what was said that made this meeting so juicy.
