The football season and Jim Landauer '23 arrived in this area rather abruptly last week. The Houston group greeted the former with the customary enthusiasm of Dartmouth men for sports of any kind and particularly because the season heralded the arrival of cool weather when we begin to realize there are other joys in life besides ducking into the nearest air-conditioned building. We met with Jim at a pleasant luncheon at the Houston Club on September 27.

Jim's report on the Big Green football team was encouraging and we feel it should be a good year. Jim's principal message concerned the acceleration of in Dartmouth in this area. We have sometimes felt that the admissions system had limited Texas to three or four freshmen every year, but Jim asked us what Colorado has that we haven't got. Over a period of time we hope to build up sufficient interest in the College to increase applications from the area and provide a little wider basis for selection.
