On Tuesday, October 25, a most important dinner meeting was held at the Candlelite Restaurant. The speaker of the evening was Al Dicker son '3O, Director of Admissions. Sitting at the head table were the following guests of honor for the evening: Harold A. Swaffield, Principal, Roger Ludlow High School, Fairfield, Connecticut; J. D. Thomson, Asst. Principal, Staples High School, Westport, Connecticut; George Garand, Asst. Principal, Bassick High School, Bridgeport, Connecticut; Arthur Sides 'OB, Principal, Central High School, Bridgeport, Connecticut; Frank McKee, Principal, Warren Harding High School, Bridgeport, Connecticut; and Donald Fowler, Principal, Stratford High School, Stratford, Connecticut.
In starting off his talk, Al invited the principals present to become members of the Dartmouth family and went on to tell those alumni present and also Dartmouth Fathers pretty much all of the latest information about the College. Following this, Al then talked to some length on the admission problem and the mechanics of handling same.
It was an outstanding meeting and the principals and those alumni and Dartmouth Fathers present learned considerable about the admissions matter and the complete story as to how it works.
