Along with the trees and flowers, the Club blossomed in May with a new round of warm weather activities. The two tennis courts across 39th Street are in fine shape, and already many of the Club's stalwarts have been out practicing their backhands, including Bob Mann '34 (who initiated the fresh courts), HowieChapin '2B, Milburn McCarthy '35, Stan Jones 'lB and D. M. Smith '44.

In the Metropolitan Squash League matches just completed, W. S. Mays '3B and Bob Reeve '3B finished among the top ten players in Class "A" competition. In Class "B", Jack Crandell '4O and John Weisenfluh '32 romped home as No. 4 and No. 6, respectively. In Class "C", with 234 entries, Ort Hicks '2l and "Snipe" Esquerre '26 won positions in the first decade of players.

INCIDENTAL INTELLIGENCE:

Bill St. Amant '27, erstwhile Club resident, is now Chicago-bound, where he will head up Western sales for Argosy magazine. Recent visitors from Hanover staying at the Club included Prof. Harold Rugg 'O6 of the Baker Library; Prof. Eric Kelly 'O6 of the English Department; Sid Hayward '26, Secretary of the College; and William Maeck '43, Assistant to the President.

Walt Snickenberger '46, who has been living at the Club while in training with American Sugar Refining, is pulling up stakes soon for—of all places—Boston! A "rump" '27 reunion was held in the Club's dining room the other day when Jack Sheldon '27 breezed in from Muskegon, Michigan. On business, of course.

Exactly 100 class agents and assistant agents from New York City, Westchester, Long Island, Northern New Jersey and environs met at the Club for dinner and a meeting to kick off the local Alumni Fund activity. Bill Morton '32, Alumni Council member, acted as toastmaster. Speakers were President Dickey;Jack Mason 'l5, Alumni Fund Chairman; George Colton '35, Executive Secretary of Fund; and Nichol M. Sandoe Jr. '45, recently appointed assistant to the Executive Secretary.

Dingwall 'l6; Vice President, J. H. Davis '25; Secretary, K. H.Murray '27; Treasurer, G. N. Farrand '33; Governors, H. M. Chapin '2B, /. J. Darling '34, C. P. Ray '37.
