Fenno Succeeds Maeck As Business Manager

TOHN S. FENNO '48 of Hanover took over the duties of Business Manager of the DARTMOUTH ALUMNI MAGAZINE on July 1, succeeding William T. Maeck '43, who has resigned his MAGAZINE post and also as assistant to President Dickey in order to become Alumni Secretary of Clarkson College of Technology in Potsdam, N. Y.

Mr. Maeck, who will become the first full-time alumni secretary in Clarkson's history, will be in charge of an expanded alumni program at the New York college. He has been an assistant to President Dickey since September 1946 and has also managed the business affairs of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE since March 1947 In connection with this latter work he has served as executive secretary of the Dartmouth Class Treasurers Association during the past two years.

Mr. Maeck, after graduating from Dartmouth in 1943, served three years in the Army Air Corps, receiving his pilot's wings and the rank of second lieutenant in 1945. He then returned to Tuck School and took his M.C.S. degree in 1946, joining the administrative staff immediately afterwards. He is married to the former Elizabeth Cooper of Minneapolis. They have an infant son, born June 28.

Mr. Fenno, the MAGAZINE'S new business manager, also holds the M.C.S. degree from Tuck School, having completed the two-year course at the business school in June. Formerly a resident of Alexandria, Va., he attended Duke University for one year as a Navy V-12 trainee and had preflight training at Chapel Hill before entering Dartmouth. He received his A.B. degree last year, is a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, and is married to the former Grace Christopherson, now a technician on the staff of the Mary Hitchcock Hospital.

Mr. Fenno is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse K. Fenno '16, who make their home in Orford, N. H. His brother is Herbert L. Fenno '51.
