The Dartmouth Outing Club of Northern California got off to a good start for 1950 with a very enjoyable picnic and successful Annual Meeting on February 26, in the bright sunshine on the lawn at the home of Trudie and Pete Talbot '38 near Woodside. All but one or two of the 14 members present brought their wives and several their families as well.
After brief reports by President Carl Ward '32 and the Secretary-Treasurer, there was discussion of the Club's plans for the spring and summer. A skiing party in the Sierras was planned for the weekend of March 11-12, to be led by Percy Hideout '40, former Dartmouth ski captain. The annual spring neighborhood parties are to be resumed in April, at which all Dartmouth men, their families and friends will be welcome. The latest Outing Club sound and color films and the 1949 Football picture from Hanover will be shown in San Francisco on AVednesday April 19; in Palo Alto on Thursday, April 20; and in Berkeley on Friday, April 21. The date for the Club's annual picnic for members and their wives or girl friends was set for Sunday, June 4.
Following the election of five members to the Board of Directors they met and organized as President Carl Ward '32; Vice-President Bob Allen '33; Secretary and Treasurer Winsor Wilkinson '10; and Dave Bender 31 and Alan Grant '43, Directors.
Regarding the building project at Donner, it was deemed essential that the structure Started last summer should be completed this year. To meet this objective, plans were discussed to enlist the active participation of those who have expressed their interest in the project.
