We hope this reaches, in time, any alumni in the Philadelphia area who may not know that we are holding our 43rd annual dinner meeting on Thursday, April 13, 6 P. M., at The Union League in Philadelphia. President Dickey will be the main speaker of the evening. For more detailed information and reservations, contact the secretary at his home, address above, or telephone his office, Lombard 3-1355.
As this piece is written the various big league ball clubs are heading for spring training in Florida and other warm, pleasant locations. And believe me, it was no coincidence today when "Bud" Jopson '45 informed me that the Philadelphia Dartmouth Club squad is about to warm up and straighten the kinks for the coming Inter-Club Softball season. We're "big league" too! Captain Jopson doesn't think it's necessary for the squad to work out in Florida (neither does Club Treasurer Parker Soule '31), but he certainl) wants all those alumni who want to help the Dartmouth Club reach the championship to contact him. You can reach "Bud" at his office by phoning LOcust 7-0411. Any who might not feel quite up to taking the field should come to as many games as possible. Your cheers and chatter from the sidelines will help, too.
The current Philadelphia alumni activity of greatest interest has been the interviewing of prospective members of the Class of 1954. Alumni Councilor Sherry Baketel '20 reports we've interviewed about 115 candidates to date. There will probably be a few more in the next couple of weeks.
We're still lunching at noon every Monday at 1223 Locust Street. We were delighted to say "hello" and have lunch recently with some new Dartmouth men in our town: BillHousel '42, Win Martin '44 and Tom Baldwin '48.
