To Isaac J. Cox goes the class "Oscar" for coming the longest distance to our reunion in June. Ike came by train from Evanston, Ill.
Your secretary met him at the station in Boston and he was my guest for two nights. Ike made a call on Frank H. Noyes '97 at his office.
The next morning we set out for Hanover via Durham, N. H., where we made a brief call on my brother, George Ham, and then through Barrington past the Ham home for four generations. We headed for Ossipee where we spent the night at the beautiful home of Mrs. Howard Rumery ('95). Howard and Mrs. Rumery formerly lived in Evanston, neighbors and friends of Ike and Bess Cox.
The following morning we drove to Hanover. Your secretary is convinced that the New Hampshire roads were bent after they were built.
We had a fine reunion—eight of 13 of our small class were present. All the "regulars" were there.
On Sunday I drove Ike to Keene leaving him there to visit some cousins and I drove home to Arlington.
From Keene Ike went to New York visiting relatives. And then to Tom's River, N. J., the county seat of his home as a youth, where he delivered a lecture before the Ocean County Historical Society. In his audience were a few who knew him in boyhood days and many descendants of others who knew him then.
After a few days visiting relatives and friends in Ocean County, he went to Virginia to visit Dr. McCaleb with whom he bicycled through Mexico many years ago. Then to Washington, Philadelphia and Cincinnati, reuning with personal and professional friends, and so home to Evanston.
Ike well deserves the class "Oscar."
