The most impressive alumni meeting in the memory of your scribe was held by our Association at the University Club, January 27. While the attendance was not as large as we had hoped, it was a significant experience tor those who were privileged to hear PresidentJohn Dickey speak. The vivid picture his words painted of the College: its problems, its struggles, its accomplishments, its hopes and aims, so completely satisfied his listeners that the customary question period was dispensed with as our president, Norris Williamson '26, wisely announced, "The meeting is adjourned."
This having been the annual meeting of our Association certain formalities were taken care of prior to President Dickey's fine talk. As a result of the new dues schedule put into effect this year, Treasurer Niel Roberts '35 was able to make a very satisfactory financial report which was a most welcome change over the "penny ante" transactions of former years. Rick Rickenbaugh '28 reported as chairman of the nominating committee. His report was accepted unanimously and resulted in the election of the following officers for the ensuing year: Norris Williamson '26, President; B. I! . Matteson '03, Vice President; HarryLitzenberger '32, Secretary; Niel Roberts '35, Treasurer; Richard Johnson '50, Assistant Secretary.
Trustees of the corporation elected to fill vacancies were Norman B. Smith '43 and J. Nervin Carson '23. The Association also placed the name of John Cunningham '18 in nomination for re-election as Alumni Councillor representing District VI for a two-year term.
