Albert R. Perkins '25, following extensive editorial experience which he began to acquire immediately after graduation from Dartmouth, has been named Executive Editor of Sport and True Detective magazines, according to a recent announcement by Macfadden Publications in New York.
Managing editor of Sport since its founding in 1946, Mr. Perkins has pursued both his inclination and a livelihood in the various fields of reporting, editing and script-writing. Starting out as a reporter on the New York American, he was later an editor with D. Appleton & Cos. and a staff member of Time and Outdoor Life. He spent five years in Hollywood, where he was editor of the March of Time and, from 1938 to 1941, story editor for the Walt Disney Studios. On Look magazine Mr. Perkins worked as Film and Radio Director from 1944 until 1946.
His editorial work on Sport has given him a wide acquaintance with leading figures, amateur and professional, in the sports world. He has been an instructor in radio writing at New York University since 1942.
