Our annual dinner meeting was held at the Saddle and Sirloin Club, February 13, with George H. Colton '35 as the guest speaker from the College. In spite of a snowstorm and freezing rain, the meeting was well attended, with ample warmth provided by a roaring fireplace and good highballs.

George first gave us news of the College with especial attention to this year's Carnival, the physical changes of Hanover, and faculty and student activities. Then he outlined to us quickly and effectively, the vital problems which the College must face now and during coming years. The impact of a national emergency with its drain on young men, coupled with greatly expanding operating costs are placing fund raising responsibilities on the College which the administration hopes can be successfully met. George, in his capacities as secretary of the Alumni Fund and executive secretary of the Development Council, was well qualified to explain the needs of the College to us. We enjoyed George very much; he is an entertaining speaker and we hope it will be possible for him to pay Kansas City a return visit some time.

Creighton Hart '28, our president, presided at the meeting and George Winter '25, Alumni Councilor from Kansas City, introduced George Colton.
